The Elephants Are Leaving

Well I am sure you have all been following the Hoo Ha about the graffiti "gang" roaming the streets of Durban. Daniel Chapman, otherwise known as "Mookie" is one of those graffiti artists. He also happens to be one of my third year students. This module he asked me if he could work off campus on a wall (all permission granted and such). I love the outcome: the sad elephants (referencing Andries Botha's rejected elephant sculptures) have decided to leave Durban. It seems that they are not welcome.

This wall is at the Alliance Francaise in Windermere Road if you would like to take a closer look.
