Fold

This is the last in a series of three posts showing the work of my third year painting students. This work was produced in the first semester. We are all just about off on a well deserved holiday.

DK Maponya has been working with the traditional Japanese art form of origami. However, rather than the thin paper, she is using "African" cloth to speak of issues surrounding colonialism and capitalist domination. This work is entitled "The Corporation".

This is one bird from a larger work that is still in progress.

I love this little doll made by Samantha Boock. It has such a European fairy-tale feel don't you think?
